Hands Free Cell Phone
Posted by DuhMaster on Mar 02, 2007I live in a town where you have to use a hands free device with your cell phone while driving. I know it seems like my wife and I are the only ones that use them. 2 instances really shocked me this past winter. It was an icy road and hill. I'm going up the hill slowly losing traction but making it up the hill. I notice that everyone coming down the hill has stopped at the top of the hill and is slowly proceeding down. It is so icy that once people hit the downslope they immediately begin to skid. Most are pumping their brakes so that they can stay under control partially. As I get to the top of the hill I notice that person coming down is really beginning to slide and is almost going sidways. A closer look shows that they have one hand on their cell phone talking while they are frantically using the other hand to try to correct the slide. I guess they need to tell someone really bad that they are out of control. Common sense?
Second situation. I am approaching a stop light. I am slowing down, and as I get closer ot the light I look in my rear view mirror. I see a woman talking on her cell phone holding it with her left hand. The other hand she uses to twist her hair just as she would do if she were sitting in a chair not driving. I'm thinking hands free does not mean you don't use ANY hands it means a device so that your HANDS ARE FREE of a cell phone. Again, common sense?
