Stay In Your Lane
Posted by DuhMaster on Mar 02, 2007Your at a stop light getting ready to turn left. There are 2 turning lanes and you are in the right lane turning left. The road you are turning onto has 3 lanes. Some intersections have little white blocks guiding you through the intersection and onto the appropriate lane after the turn. This is always the middle lane as the left turning lane stays to the far left. What really bugs me is that on the intersections that don't have the white markings (and even in those that do) people turning left from the right lane usually move all the way over to the far right lane of the three lanes available, not turning into the appropriate lane through the turn. Then you need to either wait for them to pass you or speed up so that you can stay infront of them so that you can then move over to the right lane after the turn. These folks don't have any common sense thinking that they can change lanes through the intersection making them a road hazard. Its either a total lack of courtesy or a lack of common sense. One of these days someone is going hit them turning onto that first lane from the other direction. Or they will get hit because the person staying in the appropriate lane tries to move over but can't see them because they are no longer behind them and have moved along side of them in the incorrect lane trying to pass them.
